: If you make it run really lean or really rich with an AFC to a significant amount, the ECU will start to correct this. Actually ANY change in AFC for close loop will be overridden by ECU wether its significant or not. Ofcourse you can make the ECU not override by disconnecting the o2 sensors. I saw your post in tech about this. Closed loop a/f is idle and cruise speed only. I agree if the correction has to be 10% there's an obvious problem. But big injector programs seems to be worse for close loop. I have my o2s disconnected the a/f is completely controlled by the AFC now for what used to be closed loop(now low throttle a/f). The car drives and idles way better with o2s disconnected. What did you mean that disconnecting the o2 sensors will kick you into safety mode? What safety mode is triggered by o2 sensors when they only control close loop?
